Just a cheapo I found on Ebag for six dollars and some change....shipped. I haven't tried it yet, it looks like it will work just fine though.

If it does work well, it sure will be easier to save my brass and my back, lol!

I have other concerns. It’s for my .223 Wylde build. It won’t feed snap caps through the upper. I put a milspec 5.56 upper on it. Worked fine. So either way I have to buy a new lower. I have until next summer to buy without having a card saying I can per New WA State law. Thanks!!

Why wont it feed with the .223 wylde?

I have no feeding issues with my .223 wylde. Its a .223 wylde barrel on a milspec upper.

Thanks for your reply. I consider buying one every time see these mesh brass catchers. The complaints I hear with the Caldwell is that hot bass will eventually melt a hole through the nylon, and brass striking and marking the receiver.

So I went back to shop today and bought lower that I originally wanted. Owner gave me $50 off for the mishap.

What sight is that, and does it come in at 1/3 or absolute co-witness?

It’s an eotech 522, which is the 512 with night vision compatibility. I have it 100% co-witnessed with the magpul mbus sights. Eotech 522 is sighted so red dot in center is 50, & 200 yards. Which puts the bottom hash mark 7 yards with 5.56 m855 green tips.

If you ever get this eotech you can use bore sight and line up the 7 yards point of aim, with bore sight laser on target. It’s pretty spot on then on the 50& 200 with 5.56.

I was curious, I like 1/3 lower co-witness so the irons aren't lined up with the dot. But, now that I think about it, with the flip up sights front and rear like what you have that won't be an issue.

The rifle I have has a clean slate (no stationary front sight) so I could pull these off and do the same, it never dawned on me, lol.

    Thanks for the info.

Well, I tried it out and it worked well for the most part. I had one shell hang up in the opening that I had flick in with my finger.

    Sure beats picking up brass.

Finally got my pistol build out to the range, got the red dot sighted in, and spent a few mags with it.

I am really happy with the sound forwarder I put on the barrel, from a shooter standpoint, no blow back whatsoever and very quiet.

Anderson lower, PSA 10.5 inch barrel chambered in 5.56, Strike Industries Viper hand guard, muzzle break with a 3/4 x 16 threaded sound forwarder, Shockwave Blade by KAK and topped off with a Primary Arms red dot.

OAL 22 3/4 from end of barrel to end of buffer tube.

Received my new PSA upper to go with a lonely lower I’ve had laying around.
